A very Happy New Year to you and a big THANK YOU to all of you who have already booked to join us on this year's run. How many of you can recognise the famous song lyric and remember the artist? Yes it's cold and yes some of you may have had snow this morning but one of the great things about our job is we are always looking forward to Summer!

The 2016 London to Brighton Classic and Kit & Sports car runs will take place on Sunday 5th June.

We already have received an incredible 127 entries so far, a new record since we took over organising the run in 2011, and more incredible is that some of you keep coming back to do it all over again.

For those of you that have never entered an organised run but are worried about the skills of your navigator you can relax. The London to Brighton run is a scenic tour and we take you on a different route each year with a comprehensive tulip style route book which guides you at each junction. Our youngest navigator on the run so far was 7 years old and he is already booked in again this year with Dad in his Escort MK1 - welcome back Jack! Oldest vehicle on the classic run so far is a 1925 Morris Bullnose recently bought back to the UK from New Zealand by its current owner. One of the more unusual cars joining us will be a rally prepared 2 stroke Trabant travelling from the Netherlands owned by Mr Cees Bakker. The kit & sports car run promised to have another great turnout from the UK Cobra Club in addition to members of the Z and The Independent Porsche Owners Club.

We will be starting from Mercedes-Benz World in Weybridge this year, last used as a start point in 2011, and using the famous track used by Bruno Senna in Channel 5's 'Classic Car Show'. You will have the opportunity to explore the fascinating exhibitions, get close up to legendary Mercedes-Benz vehicles and enjoy a bite to eat at Cafe 1886 before being ceremoniously waved off on the start of the London to Brighton car run.

The routes are now complete and we will be heading South in February to meet the stopping point contacts and check the route details. For those of you who are intending travelling further afield we are now able to offer a special 'London to Brighton' rate with the Brooklands Hotel opposite the start line as well as the chance to join us for dinner in the famous Blue Bird Room at Brooklands Museum for dinner on Saturday evening. The Grand hotel in Brighton will once again be our preferred hotel in Brighton and we have once again booked the underground garage for our exclusive use.

If you are thinking of joining us for the first time you will be most welcome, whether you drive a Ford or Ferrari a Lada or Lamborghini you will be joining other motor enthusiasts who share you passion!

Next year's London to Brighton runs will be taking place on Sunday 5th June and two runs are taking place:

28th London to Brighton Classic Car Run - for production vehicles over 25 years old.

16th London to Brighton Kit & Sports Car Run - for kit, replica and modern day sports cars.

Both runs start from Mercedes-Benz World and take their individual route down to Brighton and the famous Madeira Drive which is reserved for your exclusive use.

Have a great weekend and hope to see you soon!

Ooops nearly forgot - It may be winter outside (But in my heart it's Spring) was originally recorded in 1967 by Felice Taylor but most people remember Love Unlimited with Barry White covering this record in 1973! 43 years ago...!
